Bringing the Essence of Yemen to Rockford
Welcome to Almoka Coffee House®, Rockford’s first Yemeni gourmet coffee shop, nestled at 753 Highgrove Place in the Perryville Commons shopping center. Founded by local entrepreneur Hussain Abdulhafedh, a Rockford native with Yemeni heritage. Almoka Coffee House® is also known to be the first Yemeni coffee shop founded in Illinois.

Our Coffee
At Almoka, we source single-origin, organic coffee beans grown on the terraced mountains of Yemen. Grown at elevations reaching 3000 MASL. Often thought of as “coffee from above the clouds”. These beans are roasted locally in collaboration with Rockford Roasting Company, ensuring freshness and quality in every cup. Our menu features traditional Yemeni beverages like Adeni Chai and Mufawar, as well as unique creations such as the pistachio latte, which has quickly become a customer favorite.
Our Space
Designed as a welcoming lounge and dessert shop, Almoka offers a cultural experience with a delightful selection of coffees, teas, pastries, desserts and crepes. With extended hours—open until midnight on weekends—we provide a cozy environment for late-night gatherings, study sessions, or simply unwinding with friends.
